Network services are specific services performed remotely in order to increase service availability, reduce administration time, maintain storage system performance, and manage data center environments more efficiently. Basic network services capabilities are included at no additional cost under product warranty and SunSpectrum service plans. Various network services are currently available on Sun's storage products as well as many of Sun's server products. Other more advanced and proactive capabilities, such as administration and management, are delivered with Sun Manage Operations Services — a customized, fee-based service dependent on customer requirements.
