Module Overview
This service is comprised of six modules from which you can choose to develop a service that meets your unique needs. You can pick and choose from services designed to help you achieve optimal performance and productivity. The six modules are:
| Module |
Description |
| Node Configuration |
Provides the base design, consulting and cluster hardening. This modules serves as the framework for the entire service by incorporating design and testing for the other modules. |
| Resource Group Configuration |
Helps you achieve complete and functioning resource groups by providing the base design and configuration of your Solaris Cluster resource groups, logistical hosts, and Network Adaptive Failover groups. |
| Standard Data Service |
Provides the base design and configuration of the appropriate Solaris Cluster Standard Data Service for your application. Additionally, Sun experts complete a thorough testing of the application in the Solaris Cluster environment to make sure it is working as specified. |
| Custom Data Service |
Develops a Solaris Cluster High Availability agent for applications not currently supported by Solaris Cluster Standard Data Service. |
| Storage Architecture |
Helps you analyze storage requirements for the applications you want clustered but have not yet designed a storage configuration. |
| Sun i-Runbook |
Provides a customized knowledge base for your cluster environment in an online and centralized location. |
A minimum configuration for CIS consists of two Node Configuration modules, one Resource Group module and either one Standard Data Service or one Custom Data Service module. The i-Runbook and Storage Architect modules are not required. However, the i-Runbook module is highly recommended for customers new to Solaris Cluster.
Why Sun?
By coupling Sun's servers, storage and networking solutions, Solaris Cluster software helps provide the maximum level of service availability and performance for a cluster system.
