(Nasdaq:SUNW) today announced that CGI Group Inc.(CGI), a leading provider of information technology and business process outsourcing services, is launching a utility computing-based Life Sciences Solution using Sun's utility computing model. This new solution capability at CGI's Life Sciences Solution Center (LS2C)has been deployed at Genome Quebec, a genomics and proteomics investment organization. This utility computing deployment follows a Sun/CGI Bio-IT platform collaboration with Caprion Pharmaceuticals, and is yet another example of CGI's partnership with Sun to add value to Life Sciences companies. Under the Sun model, CGI will obtain network computing resources based on usage from Sun, and in turn, CGI will offer pay-for-use pricing to customers such as Genome Quebec. This new LS2C capability continues Sun's strategy to work with best-in-class partners to provide end-users such as Genome Quebec, the IT resources they need to help them reduce network computing costs and complexities.
