Bi-directional Exchange of Events with Legacy Systems -
XML-based event generation and routing enables legacy applications
to interact asynchronously and bi-directionally with other
enterprise applications.
Robust Transaction Management - Support standard
transaction protocols (XA, OLE) that enable underlying resources to
participate in client-managed transactions, including one and
two-phase commit.
Universal Connectivity - Provide a wide range of
standard interfaces, including Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE)
Connector Architecture (JCA), Java Database Connectivity (JDBC),
Open Database Connectivity (ODBC), OLEDB, ADO, XML, and COM so that
legacy transactions can be used with J2EE development tools and Web
clients.
Metadata Import Utility - Import COBOL copybooks to
leverage existing metadata definitions to create XML-based
metadata.
Support Native Security - Smart Connectors leverage and
support native security mechanisms to ensure system integrity. In
addition to impersonation, Smart Connectors work with RACF®,
ACF2 and TopSecret to leverage native authentication and
authorization.
