Sun provides a wide variety of tools and several
APIs for the development of image-enhanced applications. Use this
guide to help you determine which Sun Imaging product is most
appropriate for the type of work that you are doing. We provide the
ability to compare our Imaging products in three different
ways.
These sample programs demonstrate XIL features and
functionality. They do not demonstrate a comprehensive set of
functionality and are available to give you a feel for the type of
operations XIL can provide. You do not need to download the XIL
runtime environment to run these programs on Solaris platforms. The
XIL runtime environment is bundled as part of the Solaris Operating System.
The XIL runtime libraries and hardware
acceleration pipelines are bundled as part of the Solaris Operating
System and are available for any application running on Solaris
platforms. The developer components are those parts of the XIL
library that allow the developer to write an application or modify
an existing application to use XIL for its image processing
functions.
