Suggestion: Have these instructions available
during downloading.
Determine if you have enough free disk space on the system to
which you are going to download the CD image. In order to hold the
downloaded .zip file and the extracted CD image, it is recommended
that you have 5 GB of free disk space.
Due to the size and complexity of the image being downloaded,
use of the Sun Download Manager, is strongly recommended. For
additional information on downloading and useful troubleshooting
tips, please see the Sun Download Manager Help
page.
"Please Login" and complete the customer registration
process.
Agree to the "Terms of Use".
From the "Download" page, download the CD image of the desired
software.
You will need to unzip the download image before creating a CD,
example:
unzip filename.zip
Note: Skip this step if using Sun Download Manager's
automatic unzip feature.
Next you need to create a CD from the .iso image using CD
creation software. Follow the instructions for your specific
software to create a "bootable" ISO image CD. For Windows we
recommend you use Easy CD Creator. If you use Easy CD Creator, you
should be able to create a CD by following these steps: 1) Put a
blank 700 MB recordable CD in the drive, 2) Start the Easy CD
Creator application, 3) from the pull-down menu, select File ->
Create CD from Disk Image, 4) in the Select image file dialog
change Files of type: to ISO Image File, 5) select the .iso image
file desired and click Open, 6) Click OK on the CD Creation Setup
dialog. This should start the CD Creation Process to create an ISO
Image CD. If you are using Nero 5 burning software, choose open,
change the file-type to .iso, and click on the desired CD Image.
Once the image is open in Nero, change the "Write Method" from
"Track-at-once" (the default) to "Disk-at-once/96", and click burn.
Check the Nero support site FAQ for more details about creating CDs
from ISO images.
Once you have created the CDs, print and attach the label files
available on the download page. Each file contains two labels (for
a total of 40K), and will enable you to print cd labels on your
printer. The labels were tested using standard Avery label sheets
available in most stationary stores. Check the Avery Website for
the product number that matches your printer type. In the Page
Setup dialog box of your printer software, make sure to set the
Printable area as Centered.
Once this step has been completed, review the Installation
Guide for the product you intend to install. Using the CDs you have
just created, you should then be able to successfully install the
desired software on your computer.
