About the Promotional Program:
For a limited time, Sun Microsystems is offering a promotional
program for companies with fewer than 100 employees. Companies can
take advantage of this promotional program and sign up for a free,
one year runtime license for Java Enterprise System if they meet
the program's criteria and accept the associated terms and
conditions. One important condition allows Sun to provide Company
contact information to third party companies to help Sun analyze
the information, and to Sun authorized resellers who may contact
the Company to offer additional services.
Criteria:
Available to companies with 1-99 full time employees
Not available for Affiliated Companies (e.g.,
Subsidiaries)
Not available for government agencies
Not available for internet service providers or application
hosting, or outsourcing use
Not available for educational institutions
Company must agree that Sun may provide Company contact
information, including name, email address, job function, and
organization, to third party companies to analyze the information
for Sun, and to Sun authorized resellers who may contact Company to
offer additional services.
Summary of Terms and Conditions:
The free license is available for Sun branded systems only, and
has a one year term.
No support or services are included with the free license
Customers who wish to purchase support can purchase a
commercial license for the Java Enterprise System, which includes
technical support, updates and maintenance. Minimum number of units
(employees) licensed is 100 under the commercial license terms.

Support for individual component products of the Java
Enterprise System is not available under this free license
promotional program. A customer who wishes to purchase support for
an individual component of the system (e.g. Directory Server) only
needs to purchase a corresponding runtime license for that
individual component.
No application hosting, outsourcing, or service provider use is
allowed under the free license.
No physical media kits are included with the free license. US
customers who prefer physical media kits may
purchase those at an additional cost.
Customers signing up for the free license must provide accurate
contact information and agree that Sun may provide Company contact
information, including name, email address, job function, and
organization, to third party companies to analyze the information
for Sun, and to Sun authorized resellers who may contact Company to
offer additional services.
This program is subject to termination or modification at any
time, at Sun's sole discretion.
