Sun's Linux Offerings

Sun is already one of the largest providers of intellectual property to the open source development effort. Sun today contributes resources and technology to free and open source projects including:

• OpenOffice.org
• GNOME.org
• Mozilla.org
• Apache.org
• NetBeans.org
• Grid Engine Project
• Project JXTA
• Project Looking Glass

Sun makes significant contributions to the Linux community through participation in open source organizations such as the Free Standards Group, Linux, Open Source Development Lab, and Linux International. Sun will continue to support our many open source initiatives, and pursue opportunities to contribute Java technology, Solaris and other IP to the open source community including:

• Sun Open Source Program has created SunSource.net, a site devoted to Sun's involvement in free and open Source projects.
• The Java Community Process is an open organization of international Java developers and licensees whose charter is to develop and revise Java technology specifications, reference implementations, and technology compatibility kits.
• BigAdmin System Administration Portal is a one stop shop for the system administrator community.
• The Developer Network including Java, Solaris and now Linux communities has an unmatched developer base providing access to a huge pool of applications and open source resources.
