Halcyon is an infrastructure management vendor providing software solutions that keep IT up and running. Halcyon's product called PrimeAlert, a systems and application monitoring suite, monitors distributed systems running mission critical applications in UNIX and desktop environments.

• Halcyon Prime Alert

  The Halcyon Prime Alert module for the Sun Portal Server periodically probes its subsystems with synthetic transactions and automatically scans logfiles for significant exception messages. It also monitors key processes and system resource utilization to quickly identify potential loss of portal services and assure consistent performance of portal services.

  Also, the module for Sun Portal Server needs to be loaded on each system that is running a Portal Server and Access Manager. The module will automatically pick up the appropriate processes, logs, and URLs for any local Directory Server and Access Manager associated with the Portal Server.
