Integration with Java System Application Server (formerly Sun
ONE Application Server)
Cognos ReportNet is built from the ground up to work in an n-tier
architecture. The infrastructure components of ReportNet are
written in Java. As part of its design, it has various elements
written as Java Servlets that require a Servlet container to
execute the Java code. ReportNet can use Java System Application
Server as that Java Servlet container. The application server
supplies the mission-critical runtime environment that supports the
interaction between clients, the program, and various back-end
components, by managing system resources and infrastructure that
the program requires.

J2EE platform.
