Stellent portlets are JSR 168 compliant, and built on a MVC architecture. They run on a set of EJBs in a JCA architecture for the application server. Stellent portlets enable contribution, workflow, and consumption of content from the portal.

Portlet Descriptions

• Contribution: Contribute binary files to the Stellent Content Server and set metadata values. Default values include Document Type, Title, Author, Security Group, Revision, Comments, File Format, and Release and Expiration dates. Binary content contributed to the Stellent Content Server can be put through workflow for approval, and then converted to HTML or XML for indexing and viewing on the portal.
• Basic Search: Enables users to search the Stellent Content Server for public content without a login.
• Saved Search: Users can save searches that they run regularly. These appear as a list in the Saved Searches porlet.
• Authenticated Search: Search using an authenticated user login
• Library: A series of preconfigured metadata searches that enables a user to navigate and view the content in the Stellent Content Server. Out of the box items include "What's New" - new content within the last 30 days, "Admin Thoughts" - a specific document updated by the system admin, and "Accounting Forms" - items corresponding to a particular document type called Accounting Forms.
• Workflow Queue: See a list of items waiting in your workflow inbox. Click on an item to view it, and click on the appropriate button to approve or reject the content.
• Metadata Administration: Administer the content server from a portlet.
• Authenticated Library Portlet: Allows authenticated user to view info screen and take action on content browsed from the Authenticated Library Portlet. Also supports Dynamic Conversion of supported file formats to HTML.

Languages: English; easily localized to any other language. Most strings come from the Stellent Content Server, which supports English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazilian), Spanish.
