Solaris Cluster Point Product Licensing



Solaris Cluster components can be licensed separately as point products with a perpetual Right-To-Use license
  • Solaris Cluster: One server Right-To-Use license per physical system* in the cluster.
  • Solaris Cluster Agents: One agent Right-To-Use license per agent for the entire cluster.
  • Solaris Cluster Geographic Edition: One Geographic Edition server Right-To-Use license per physical system in the cluster.

* If a system has multiple domains, with some or all domains participating in same or different clusters, only one server RTU license is needed for that system.

Solaris Cluster and Solaris Cluster Geographic Edition license structure consists of 11 Tiers.

Solaris Cluster can also be licensed as part of Sun Java Enterprise System and Sun Java Availability Suite. All Solaris Cluster components (Solaris Cluster, Solaris Cluster Geographic Edition, Solaris Cluster Agents) are included in those subscription licenses as well as additional developer tools: Sun Studio, Java Studio Creator, Java Studio Enterprise.

Java Enterprise System is a comprehensive set of subscription-based services that combines software, support, professional services, and educational services in a single package, for a single price.

The subscription to Java Enterprise System includes subscription to Solaris Cluster components (Solaris Cluster, Solaris Cluster Agents, and Solaris Cluster Geographic Edition).

Java Availability Suite Licensing

Java Availability Suite is one of the Java System Suites. Customers can buy a license for Java Availability Suite - or a combination of Java System Suites - to have access to the subscription licenses for specific point products that address an immediate business need.

The subscription to Java Availability Suite includes subscription to Solaris Cluster components (Solaris Cluster, Solaris Cluster Agents, and Solaris Cluster Geographic Edition).
