Dell to distribute the Solaris OS on select Dell PowerEdge servers

Solaris OS and Solaris Support Subscriptions are an excellent choice for Dell PowerEdge server customers who have applications that demand reliability, security, scalability, performance and integrated virtualization. Dell is simplifying its customer experience by making it even easier to acquire an integrated Solaris-based solution and support by offering Solaris on or with its systems from the factory.

The agreement between Sun and Dell gives Solaris customers an expanded option of pre-configured systems from which to choose, and enables Dell customers to leverage the advanced security, virtualization and scalability features inherent in the Solaris OS, and a simplified buying experience to get an integrated solution with extensive backline support.
