Dell has expanded its support of the Solaris operating system by expanding its availability to nine of its popular Intel- and AMD-based servers. The popular server company now offers support for Sun's premiere operating system on a broader range of X64-based systems than any vendor besides Sun.
Dell's lineup of servers running Solaris includes Intel- and AMD-powered rack-mounted servers and blade servers. Dell also provides its customers with a full range of sales and technical support in an effort to make it easier to acquire the Solaris-equipped systems, to install them, and to run them.

Sun supports Solaris on a wide variety of X64-based systems, and supports an enormous number of peripheral devices and systems option installed in those systems.
