Solstice Cooperative Consoles software interconnects multiple Solstice SunNet Manager consoles together to enable cooperative management of medium to large enterprise networks. Topology changes as well as event and trap information are forwarded between consoles. Changes to one user's map are automatically reflected on others' maps real-time. Both users can make data requests to components in the common network. Most importantly, Solstice Cooperative Consoles allows flexible configurations in how consoles are interconnected and in configuring the amount of management data sent between consoles.

Product Benefits
  • Manage larger networks - It is easier to manage larger networks as each Solstice SunNet Manager console can manage just a site or region and then be interconnected to other consoles with Solstice Cooperative Consoles.
  • Leverage networking expertise across the enterprise - Management responsibility can be delegated across multiple consoles located anywhere in the enterprise.
  • Flexible organization of management responsibility - Solstice Cooperative Consoles lets users manage their network the way they manage their business. Global organizations can transfer network management control from different geographic sites in adjusting for time changes. Solstice Cooperative Consoles also allow multiple managers in a single site to share management responsibility with each individual being responsible for different parts of the overall network.
  • Excellent cost-effective solution for interconnecting up to five consoles - Performance testing shows Solstice Cooperative Consoles software can easily facilitate interconnecting five consoles without any significant performance degradation. More are possible when a small amount of management data is to be shared across consoles.

Product Features
  • Flexible configurations between consoles - Solstice Cooperative Consoles allows many different configurations in how multiple consoles are interconnected. A common configuration is to have multiple regional consoles, each with their own area of responsibility and associated network maps, sending updates to a central console whose map shows all of the regional maps combined into one. The central console can then manage the entire network during off-hours.
Alternatively, the central site could be given complete control of the network with each regional office handling network events for their area. In this scenario, highly skilled network specialists could perform complex tasks for the entire network from the central console.

Another method would be to have all consoles share equal authority over the entire network, and share all information, such as in a help desk environment.
  • Security - Strict authorization is enforced as to what console can receive management data and what management database is available.
  • Management Data Filtering - The amount of data sent to each receiver can be configured to match the information provided to the user's role.
  • Configuration Tool - An easy-to-use GUI-based configuration tool is provided to set up the receiver and sender consoles.
