The download provides the StarOffice[tm] 8 Software Development Kit (SDK) and accompanying documentation as a single download. Note that you will need to have the StarOffice 8 software installed to use the StarOffice 8 SDK. Please refer to StarOffice 8 Office Suite for more information on system requirements, platform support, and language support.


The StarOffice 8 Software Development Kit (SDK) includes the following components:
  • Developer's Guide with about 1,000 pages
  • XML file format specification
  • API reference documentation
  • Development and deployment tools and utilities
  • Easy to build code samples for the Java programming language, C++, StarOffice Basic and OLE

To download the software:

Step 1. Download and install the Sun Download Manager. This is a small Java application that makes the process of downloading Sun software fast, easy, and reliable. It is available at no charge. If you have already installed the Sun Download Manager during a previous Sun software download, please go directly to Step 2.
