Analyze & Communicate Results
Formulas & Functions
Just collecting and presenting data isn't enough. You want to spot relationships, dependencies, trends, upsides, and vulnerabilities. Calc gives you 275 pre-defined, field-tested functions to get to the point. It doesn't matter if you're not a pro in mathematical or logical thinking, banking, or statistical analysis. Array functions help you define formulas based on what you know.
Function Wizard
For more help with advanced formulas, Calc's Function Wizard guides you in defining them.
Natural Language Formulas
This feature makes formula definition more intuitive and easier to communicate by letting you use text labels like "capital" and "interest" to define your formulas. You use language to define what a formula is logically.
"What If" Scenarios
Would one more dollar invested make us profitable? How about a million? Calc's Scenarios engine gives you the power of asking "what if" in real-time. Ready-made scenarios help you learn about this important ability, and a Scenario Manager helps you create and manage your scenarios. You can't change history, but you sure can "what-if" the future.

DataPilot Tables
Calc's cool interactive DataPilot tables automatically extract and summarize data from raw data sets. DataPilot tables can help you comprehend and analyze data at a glance as well as detect patterns and trends. In this release, Calc's DataPilot better supports Pivot Table functions in Microsoft Excel.
Data Manipulation and Presentation
Calc's data filtering, sorting, consolidation, and outlining capabilities extend your ability to organize and view data before you chart it. Text and cell formatting include automatic and conditional options.
Charts
A good chart is language independent. It can help you drive your point home, no matter who you're talking to. Calc gives you 13 chart types—including bar, pie, line, scatter, area, and stock charts. Multiply that by dozens of formatting options for customizing looks, legends, colors, axes, and labels. Just make sure it's simple enough to deliver your point immediately.
Macros
Automating regular workflows and tasks takes just a few minutes, but it can save hours. In Calc, you can assign custom scripts (macros) to menu items, icons, dialog controls, and events. And StarSuite supports three different scripting languages: StarSuite Basic, JavaScript, and Beanshell.
