How to participate in Solaris Ready ProgramYou may wish to print these instructions, or bookmark this page. Step 1: Become a member of the Partner Advantage Program. Register at the Member level or above and enjoy the benefits.
After registration is complete you will obtain an Partner Advantage membership number to use for the Solaris Ready nomination form. Step 2: Request Product Nomination for Solaris Ready Program
Request nomination of your products into the Solaris Ready Program. Upon successful submission, you will receive an e-mail confirmation of your Request for Nomination. The product nominated for consideration will be assigned a product submission code. Please note: Product submissions will only be accessible by the Solaris Ready Program Office for review, and will be kept confidential. Step 3: Business Case Evaluation Once the on-line Request for Nomination is successfully received by the Solaris Ready Program Office, the Business Case and Technical Evaluation of the submitted product begins. The Business Case Review is an internal procedural process conducted to ensure compliance with product and commitment requirements. During this evaluation, the vendor product team should expect inquiries from both the Solaris Ready Program from the engineering and marketing personnel. These inquiries will range from the product's general functionality, to its target market, expected sales, etc. This extensive review is intended to ensure all established Program requirements are met to maintain the integrity and quality of the Solaris Ready brand. While we estimate the review timeframe to be three to four weeks ideally, some evaluations require additional research and take a longer period of time to conclude. If at any time, additional questions or concerns are encountered, please contact the Solaris Ready Program administrator. Step 4: Nomination At the conclusion of the Business Case and Technical Evaluation, the proposed product will either be nominated for participation in the Program or denied participation with an explanation. Nomination simply means that the product-testing phase of the process will begin. The nomination letter does not mean or imply the product has met the testing requirements of the Solaris Ready Program. Whether a product is nominated for participation in the Program or not is in Sun's sole discretion, and Sun's decision is final. Once nomination is extended, Program participant will be asked to participate in the testing phase. Testing requirements and marketing commitment will be required from participant. The technical resource(s) will provide an interface to Sun for tracking and resolution of issues during all phases of the testing. Minimal level of funding and equipment resources to test the product at a external test house may also be required. For costs associated with current supported product categories, please contact the Solaris Ready Program administrator. Step 5: Testing Depending on the product type, testing may be performed by participants in the Solaris Ready Program, by Sun, or by a independant testing laboratory. Once the product has passed through the applicable testing process for ease of installation, use, and compatibility with Solaris OS, it's on its way to receiving the benefits of the Solaris Ready Program. Step 6: Logo License Agreement Signing the Solaris Ready Logo License Agreement (LLA) both by the vendor and Sun, will complete the process and grants the privilege to use the Solaris Ready logo as provided in the LLA. Marketing contact(s) will be required for implementing the Solaris Ready logo on all appropriate materials as governed by the LLA and for working with Sun on potential joint marketing and promotional opportunities. |
