American Recovery and Reinvestment Act – National Level
This Act is an unprecedented effort to jumpstart our economy, save and create millions of jobs, and put a down payment on addressing long-neglected challenges. Much of this money is earmarked for State-specific initiatives. The following links provide information on and access to Act information on a National level:
Nationwide Health Information Network (NHIN) allows comprehensive management of medical information and its secure exchange between health care consumers and providers. The effort is funded by the US Dept of HHS, Sun is a participant in its implementation.
Sun has been an early participant in the architecture design and implementation of NHIN. Sun's Open Source technology was selected as the backbone of the NHIN gateway to connect its 26 member agencies.
It is important to have a window into the initiatives that states are taking on and to which they are committing time and resources. These initiatives may focus on green technology, data center consolidation, security, all of the things that should be of interest to all of our states.
