Host Storage Domains and Sun StorageTek 9900 SANtinel Software.
Allows host pooling at the World Wide Name (WWN) level. Sun StorageTek 9900 SANtinel software assures authorized access to Logical Units (LUs). Hosts with disparate operating systems may access the storage system through the same physical port. Up to 128 WWNs can access each port, and the same WWNs may be assigned to multiple Host Storage Domains (HSDs) in the same system. Up to 256 LUs may be assigned to each HSD. Sun StorageTek 9900 SANtinel software allows restricted host access to data on the Sun StorageTek 9970 system. Open system users can restrict access to LUs based on the host's WWN. An LU group allows specified LUs to be assigned to a single group name. A WWN group allows up to 128 WWNs to be assigned to a single group. A WWN group gives every host in the specified WWN group access to the specified LU or group of LUs.
