For the greatest value in a full-featured disk system, the Sun StorageTek 2530 array gives customers much lower cost without compromising performance. Using the leading technology available in Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) disk drives, the StorageTek 2530 dramatically lowers the cost of direct attached storage (DAS).
The Storage Performance Council (SPC) is a non-profit corporation founded to define, standardize, and promote storage subsystem benchmarks as well as to disseminate objective, verifiable performance data to the computer industry and its customers. SPC members include most of the storage industry as well as universities and industry analysts. SPC tests require the submission of a Full Disclosure Report (FDR). The FDR contains detailed information on every aspect of the system being tested. All test parameters must be revealed. The information enables everyone to see exactly how the system was setup. It enables anyone to setup the identical configuration and know exactly what the performance will be. The FDR is audited by the SPC and is publicly available on their website.
