Sun Flash Storage

Installation (3 simple steps):

1. Ensure Java 1.5.0 or higher is installed on the servers you wish to analyze.


2. Download and Install the Sun Flash Analyzer and Java runtime if you need it.

Readme - Sun Flash Analyzer

Review the README file that comes with the install package (swat302.tar/zip.) Once installed, to start Sun Flash Analyzer:

• on Unix: ./flash
• on Windows: .\flash.bat or double click on flash.bat

The Sun Flash Analyzer collects, analyzes, and displays data from Solaris, Windows and Linux systems. The recommended running time is at least 60 minutes, or long enough to run during high storage workload periods and/or periods that are response-time sensitive.

Sun Flash Analyzer also comes with "sample" collected data so you can experiment with the tool before you collect live data on your application and/or systems.

* Intended for systems or storage administrators who are familiar with deploying and managing storage in systems.
