Today's HPC clusters provide ever more computational power, but the direct access storage embedded in these architectures is difficult to manage and does not scale to the required model sizes. When combined with the Sun Compute Cluster or any industry-standard HPC Cluster, the Sun Unified Storage Solution provides a hybrid storage architecture that accelerates I/O throughput, scales to 576 TB, and simplifies the the management of MCAE model scenario data.

A user-friendly GUI eases storage provisioning, and Storage Analytics facilitates managing HPC applications by visualizing related storage data flow in real time, enabling quick improvements in computational throughput. The solution also includes a comprehensive snapshot feature that works hand in hand with HPC workflow to versionize data in concert with execution checkpoints, saving valuable execution time.
