Tape - The Digital Curator

In the July, 2008 industry news report I wrote about how "Tape - Alive and Well." In that report I mentioned that tape is expanding its role from a pure backup solution to that of a premier long-term storage technology and described some of typical ways in which tape is used: Disaster recovery, data protection and archive. Just recently, I received access to the Sun video that I want to share with you where Fred Moore, President of Horison Inc., presented at a Sun conference about how tape is the perfect storage tier for archived data as it is long-life media, portable even without power, energy efficient, and secure.
