Enterprise-class NAS protection
|
Enterprise Backup Software also provides enterprise-class NAS protection via the Expanded Network Data Management Protocol (NDMP). The software clones NDMP savesets from tape, which provides backup flexibility for Solaris, Windows, HP-UX, or Linux environments, and enables you to back up to a locally attached device or to a drive or library on the LAN or SAN.
In addition, the Dynamic Drive Sharing Option allows the software to share tape drives among several Storage Nodes or a SAN within a single data zone. This provides increased efficiency and maximizes backup performance.

Fast system recovery

Enterprise Backup Software allows you to establish a backup policy for each system. If the primary system is not available, scheduled backups are directed to secondary systems. The software also allows duplicate copies of data to be automatically created at an offsite location for safekeeping. In addition, Enterprise Backup Software provides fast system recovery by requiring only the backup server indexes to be available to recover all data.
