The Sun StorageTek Common Array Manager software provides administrators with a powerful, easy-to-use, Java-based graphical user interface for administering the Sun StorageTek arrays. The software enables online administration, a consistent interface across all operating systems, and the ability to monitor and manage one or all arrays from any location on the network.
The GUI provides a comprehensive view of all the storage systems in the management domain, and is the primary interface for configuring, managing, and monitoring supported arrays. From the GUI, new storage systems can be added or deleted manually or automatically.
Each storage system is managed through a Storage Window. Storage Windows display the application-oriented storage profiles and logical and physical components for each array. All storage-management operations for a selected storage system are launched from the appropriate Storage Window menu. Multiple Storage Windows can be launched from the Array Summary Window, which is used to configure and maintain the arrays.

The software seamlessly manages any combination of mixed drive types (capacities and RPM speeds), RAID levels, segment sizes, virtual disk sizes, volume characteristics, and cache policies.
