OpenSolaris AMI License for Amazon EC2

All Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) provided by Sun Microsystems, Inc. (Sun) are separate from the Amazon Web Services, including, without limitation, the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) or Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) (collectively Amazon Web Services) provided by Amazon Web Services LLC, Amazon.com, Inc., Amazon Payments, Inc., Amazon Services LLC and/or any of its affiliates (collectively, Amazon). Amazon is solely responsible for any Amazon Web Services or any other services it provides and Sun is not responsible or liable of any such services. The Amazon Web Services Customer Agreement is posted on Amazon's website and Conditions of Use for Amazon.com are posted here.

AMIs include Amazon EC2 AMI tools which are licensed by Amazon under the Amazon Software License or in the license file of the software.

Otherwise, your use of any AMIs as made available by Sun through Amazon EC2, Amazon S3 or otherwise is subject to the applicable license terms for such software:

The AMI of Solaris Express Community Edition (SXCE) is licensed under the terms of the Solaris Express Software License Agreement.

The AMI of OpenSolaris Operating System (OpenSolaris) is licensed as provided in the /etc/notices/LICENSE file in the applicable AMI and as stated in the 2009.06 OpenSolaris License or 2008.11 OpenSolaris License as applicable.

For AMIs of OpenSolaris which are preconfigured to include additional packages from the OpenSolaris Package Repository, the licenses for the additional packages are also included in the /etc/notices/LICENSE file in the applicable AMI.

Additional software packages available from the OpenSolaris Package Repository are governed by the licenses provided in the individual software packages, which can be viewed using the package manager graphical user interface.

The AMIs are made available on an "AS IS" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF ANY KIND, either express or implied.

BY ACCESSING OR USING AN AMI PROVIDED BY SUN, YOU ARE INDICATING YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THESE TERMS AND THE APPLICABLE LICENSE AGREEMENTS. IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS AND THE APPLICABLE LICENSE AGREEMENTS, DO NOT ACCESS OR USE THE AMI.
