Sun and ESI Group

Alliance Overview

Sun and ESI Group have been working together for over 15 years and ESI Group uses Sun Studio compilers and Sun HPC Cluster Tools to develop applications. The companies have recently re-enforced the relationship with ESI's Group's commitment to port PAM-CRASH 2G and PAM-STAMP 2G to the Solaris 10 OS.

About ESI Group

ESI Group is a world-leading supplier and pioneer of digital simulation software for prototyping and manufacturing processes that take into account the physics of materials. ESI Group has developed an extensive suite of coherent, industry-oriented applications to realistically simulate a product's behavior during testing, to fine-tune manufacturing processes in accordance with desired product performance, and to evaluate the environment's impact on product performance. ESI Group's products represent a unique collaborative and open virtual engineering environment known as the Virtual Try-Out Space, enabling virtual prototypes to be improved in a continuous and collaborative manner while eliminating the need for physical prototypes during product development.

Solutions At a Glance

  • PAM-CRASH 2G — ESI Group's flagship physics-based simulation software provides virtual testing for crash and safety professionals. PAM-CRASH 2G, a fully integrated and efficient solution, allows consideration of manufacturing effects by chaining the simulation of casting, stamping and composites forming processes to crash simulation.
  • PAM-STAMP 2G — PAM-STAMP 2G is a complete, integrated, scalable and streamlined stamping solution. It covers the entire tooling process from quotation and die design through formability and try-out validation, including springback prediction and correction. It provides solutions-oriented tools for automotive, aerospace, and general stamping processes.
