Sun and Oracle are delivering optimized data warehousing solutions in support of Oracle's Optimized Warehouse Initiative (OWI), that combine the Oracle Database with industry-leading Sun servers, Sun StorageTek arrays and the Solaris OS. These solutions include Oracle Optimized Reference Configurations for Sun and Oracle Optimized Warehouses for Sun.

Oracle Optimized Reference Configurations for Sun

Oracle and Sun have created a comprehensive set of Data Warehousing Reference Configurations that enable IT planners and architects to start from a "best-fit" reference configuration when building a data warehouse. Using extensive customer experience and technical knowledge, these configurations combine software, hardware, storage, I/O and networking into a configuration optimized for different scales of customer data warehouse requirements. By offering customers reference configurations suited for different profiles, raw data sizes (from 0.5TB to 100TB) and workload complexity, customers can select the one that best suits their business and price, performance requirements. Built on scalable, modular components, these reference configurations enable customers to aggressively pursue incremental data warehouse growth.
