Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts

The court records system has made it possible for criminal justice agencies to apprehend fugitives faster by providing warrant information in near real-time, making Pennsylvania a safer place for its 12.5 million inhabitants.

Alvion Technologies

Alvion Technologies, Inc. needed to maintain optimal query response time for an online, self-service business model, while moving to the Unix (Sun Fire) platform to support growth needs.

American Airlines

American Airlines, the world's largest carrier, needed to increase revenue by reducing fraudulent ticket processing. That meant finding a way to quickly and efficiently query their data warehouse. American Airlines integrated Sybase IQ with other data warehouse technologies that combine to give the airline an efficient solution that scales easily. Sun Microsystems provided server and storage hardware while Computer Associates helped deploy its front-end, report-generation software.

Cambridge Astronomical Survey Unit

The Cambridge Astronomical Survey Unit, part of the Institute of Astronomy at Cambridge University, needed to catalog years of data so astronomers could efficiently search for and request information. Using Sybase technology, researchers across the world can now find crucial research information in minutes rather than weeks. At Cambridge, it is now running on Sun Solaris servers as well as Linux, with the initial implementation taking only a couple of weeks.

Cellcom

Cellcom, the leading Israeli cellular communication services provider, needed to develop a control system for the company's GSM (global system for mobile communications) network. Cellcom turned to Sybase IQ to create a low-cost, low-maintenance system that could generate rapid extraction of changing queries without having to build cubes or aggregate tables.

Elisa Mobiilsideteenused

Elisa is a leading supplier of mobile and fixed-line telecommunications services in the Republic of Estonia. They needed a single, accurate source of information that everyone could access. Very large volumes of data would need to be imported, regularly refreshed and managed, and the chosen solution would need to be very flexible and highly productive in handling a wide variety of ad hoc queries and reporting.
