Sun and IBM WebSphere

IBM WebSphere and Sun provide the foundations for Java Web Services, Service Oriented Architectures (SOA) and Enterprise Application Integration. Sun's unique server and operating system capabilities provide a platform for IBM WebSphere middleware that can cost less to acquire, license, and operate than systems from other vendors. World class companies choose Solaris OS to run their mission critical WebSphere infrastructure, and IBM and Sun jointly support customer deployments through the SunVIP program.

Alliance Overview

This strategic alliance focuses on mutual customers who have chosen the Sun Platform to deploy the WebSphere branded products. Sun is a Tier-1 platform for IBM software (WebSphere, Information Management, Lotus, Tivoli, etc.) and these two industry giants work together to leverage open standard specifications, and align engineering resources to deliver low-cost, high performance solutions for our mutual customers.
