Using ZXTM to enhance GlassFish Enterprise Server performance
ZXTM can improve the availability of a service hosted on GlassFish Enterprise Server, eliminating downtime due to maintenance and allowing multiple generations of an application to coexist seamlessly. Performance is improved by offloading CPU intensive tasks (SSL processing, dynamic content compression) onto Zeus' high performance implementations, and by caching content to free up resources on the GlassFish servers. ZXTM can also play an important role as a security gateway. Finally, in a large-scale application cluster with multiple functional components, ZXTM's position as the single point of entry and exit for all network traffic makes it an ideal place to deploy Java extensions (very similar to GlassFish Servlets) that implement application delivery logic to all traffic, irrespective of the capabilities of the back-end server that handled the request.
