ZXTM (Zeus Extensible Traffic Manager) works with all industry standard applications, including Web servers, application servers, streaming media applications, VoIP applications, SOA/XML, Web 2.0 and most TCP or UDP-based protocols. ZXTM supports fully both IPv4 and IPv6 traffic.
ZXTM runs on Sun CMT and X64 servers and blades under Solaris and Linux and also as a virtual appliance (VA) under VMware.
Acceleration
ZXTM accelerates applications by:
- Managing TCP and HTTP connections, multiplexing them to the application servers so that they operate at maximum efficiency.
- Compressing/decompressing content and offloading SSL encryption/decryption from the servers.
- Caching content responses and processing XML messages.

High Availability & Reliability
ZXTM load balances traffic to web and application servers and monitors their performance in real-time, avoiding any failed or slow server. ZXTM's clustered architecture enables the load to be shared across up to 64 active ZXTM nodes providing very high throughput and availability.
High Security
ZXTM can protect Web applications from external attempts to overload the servers (Denial-of-Service attacks) and Request Rate Shaping prevents your infrastructure from being overwhelmed by requests from greedy or malicious users.
Flexible and Extensible
ZXTM inspects 100% of both the inbound and outbound traffic streams and its TrafficScript rules language and Java Extensions can modify and route any TCP or UDP protocol. This enables ZXTM to perform sophisticated traffic processing and enables close integration with external applications.

Global Load Balancing
ZXTM GLB provides powerful, multi-datacenter traffic routing and disaster recovery, directing customers to the data center that is geographically closest and load balancing traffic across multiple data centers no matter where in the world they are located. ZXTM GLB monitors each data center and will re-route traffic to avoid heavily-loaded or failed sites.
