Multiple Virtual Application Delivery Controllers
Multiple instances of ZXTM can run in Solaris 10 LDOMs on a single Sun CMT server. This allows different application traffic streams to be completely isolated from one another for the highest security requirements. Additionally, where many different network/Web applications are deployed, business risk can be reduced by managing different applications with a different instance of ZXTM. Of course, ZXTMs clustering architecture is fully supported across multiple servers, so ZXTM instances can be clustered across physical server platforms to provide high availability and scalability.
SAMP "in a single box"
One instance of ZXTM can run in a single LDOM on a CMT server alongside other LDOMs running Web servers, application servers, database servers etc. Using ZXTM, just two CMT servers can run a highly available, load balanced Web application infrastructure in a start-up situation, yet can scale up immediately when business takes off.
Fast SSL Processing
ZXTM performs full SSL decryption and encryption processing, offloading this compute-intensive task from the application servers themselves. When running on Sun Fire servers with CoolThreads technology, ZXTM uses the high speed, on-chip crypto engine to provide very fast SSL processing.
Huge I/O Bandwidth
ZXTM takes advantage of the underlying capabilities of Sun servers and Solaris 10 operating system. The 10 Gbit/s network interface on each CoolThreads processor enables ZXTM to achieve in excess of 4.5 Gbit/s of real application throughput per individual server.
Servers or Blades or Virtual Environments?
ZXTM is able to run on Sun servers, Sun blades and even as a virtual appliance in environments like LDOMs and VMware. In all cases, the same ZXTM feature set is supported giving customers maximum flexibility. Running in a virtual environment can significantly reduce power, cooling and rack space requirements over conventional network appliances.
