How does the Upgrade Allowance Program (UAP) work?
A:
The Sun Upgrade Allowance Program (UAP) lets you trade-in anytime(Must be owned by the customer for 90 days) and benefit from higher performance, lower maintenance, and improved operational efficiencies. Sun UAP is perfect for upgrading to the latest Sun products from older Sun and non Sun equipment.

The system or component must be in working condition and returned to Sun within 90 days of the new system purchase.

What systems qualify for trade in?
A:
Upgrades/trade-in's are available to most new servers, workstations, storage and select components. Refer to www.sun.com/store.

Can Sun Reman products be traded towards purchase of a new Sun system?
A:
Yes. Reman products are eligible for trade-in with UAP when owned for a minimum of 90 days.

Can UAP be applied to the purchase of Remanufactured Sun Systems?

No. UAP only applies to new Sun system purchases.

The UAP is designed with the understanding that agreed upon trade-in equipment will be returned to Sun within 90 days of the new-equipment shipment from Sun. Systems or components must be owned and in the possession by the customer for 90 days prior to trade-in in order to be eligible under UAP.

This includes services conducted at your site, including a complete system audit, inspection and testing, mandatory repairs and upgrades necessary for your equipment, and certification that your system is properly licensed for the Solaris Operating Environment.
