SunReturns

Welcome to the new SunReturns site for U.S. customers, end users, and resellers. If you're ready to return used Sun and other suppliers' systems to us as part of the Sun Upgrade Advantage Program, you're at the right place to complete the Return of Material Authorization (RMA) Process.

The SunReturns site eliminates the need to open multiple RMA kits or pick up your pen and fill out their forms. You simply follow the five easy steps described below, as you click through the process at SunReturns.

As the first step at the SunReturns website, you'll need any one of the RMA numbers you received with your new Sun purchase.

RMA numbers can be found on the Sun invoice, packing list attached to the new Sun equipment or on an RMA kit.

If you have any questions regarding this new process, please see below:

Here are the Five Easy Steps:

Please Note, you must follow these instructions to keep your Upgrade Advantage Discount.

First, open the SunReturns page, it will guide you through five simple steps.

In Step 1
Enter the RMA number(s) to begin the returns process.

In Step 2
Identify the eligible trade-in equipment for your return(s). Select "Product Model Names" of the new equipment you purchased to view a list of eligible trade in equipment.

In Step 3
Enter the contact, shipment and packaging information.

In Step 4
Verify all information entered.

In Step 5
Select "Finish" to complete your transaction. SunReturns will send an e-mail to Sun's Freight Vendor and to the primary contact.

Please note, customers must return eligible trade-in equipment to Sun Microsystems within 90 days of the shipment date of new equipment from Sun or its Reseller.

If your RMA number does not appear in SunReturns OR if you do not have Internet access, Customer Service will be able to arrange a manual pick up. As always, our team is standing by, so if you encounter any problems or have questions, please feel free to call 1-800-669-4373 or e-mail sunreturns@sun.com.

Failure to return eligible trade-in equipment on time will result in additional invoicing for the non-returned upgrade allowance amount shown on the invoice. If you require assistance in complying with the 90 day time frame, please contact your Sun Sales Representative.

Sun Microsystems appreciates your business. Your feedback and comments are welcome. For assistance or questions send email to SunReturns@sun.com.
