Prerequisites

To succeed fully in this course, students should be able to:

• Perform system administration on the Linux OE (courses available: Red Hat Linux Essentials (RH-033) and Red Hat Linux System (RH-131))
• Perform system administration on the Solaris OS (courses available: Solaris Operating System Essentials for System Maintainers (SM-101) and Solaris System Administration (SM-239))
• Recognize components of PC hardware or similar systems (courses available: Maintaining and Troubleshooting the Sun Fire V20z Server (WET-4682) or Sun Fire X4100 and X4200 Server Administration (WEB-4923))

Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:

• Describe the key features and technologies of the Sun Fire X4600 server and relate it to other Sun servers
• Describe the Sun Fire X4600 server architecture and internal system components
• Install the Sun Fire X4600 server into a rack

Module 1
