The Sun Certified System Administrator for the Solaris 8 Operating System Upgrade Exam is for candidates who have already successfully completed the Sun Certified System Administrator, both Part I and Part II examinations, of a previous version of the Solaris Operating System (Solaris OS) (2.4, 2.5, 2.6, and 7). Reseller exams are not applicable. Candidates who are not previously certified cannot take the upgrade exam. Sun Reseller exams do not qualify as prerequisistes. Reseller exam to not apply as prerequisites.

Effective September 30, 2008, if you hold an exam voucher for this certification exam, you have through January 27, 2009 to take the exam at an authorized Prometric worldwide testing center.

Section 1: Security


  • Identify how to search for regular expressions in the contents of one or more files.
