Prerequisites
To succeed fully in this course, students should be able to perform basic systems administration tasks, including:
  • Edit files using an editor available in the Solaris Operating System (Solaris OS)
  • Execute commands using a command-line interface
  • Use man pages
  • Identify, locate, download and install patches
  • Administer volumes using the VERITAS Volume Manager (VxVM) software
  • Explain the following terms:
    • Random array of independent disks, or RAID (both hardware and software)
    • Fibre Channel
    • Storage area network (SAN)

    • Sun StorEdge(TM) T3 array
    • Sun StorEdge(TM) A5x00 array
