z/OS MVS Internals Fundamentals Workshop (ZSFW) (TK-2067)

z/OS MVS Internals Fundamentals Workshop (ZSFW) (TK-2067)

The z/OS MVS Internals Fundamentals Workshop provides students with in-depth workings of OS/390 MVS, with z/OS material added by the instructor. The course covers system architecture and how jobs flow through the different MVS address spaces. Students will use the data area manuals to interpret MVS control blocks, the PSW to determine the CPU's state, IPCS to examine control blocks, and dump exercises. The components of the operating system are also described, such as the Parallel Sysplex and the Coupling Facility. The students will gain insight into the strengths and weaknesses of MVS that otherwise comes only with years of experience. Hands-on lab exercises are used to reinforce lectures.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a 10 day course, running 2 consecutive weeks Monday through Friday , with a weekend break in the middle.
