The two-day Hardware Configuration Definition (HCD) Workshop prepares the student for using the HCD dialog panels and Input Output Definition File (IODF) for creating and using I/O configurations. Lab exercises allow hands-on experience in using the HCD dialog panel interface. Students will learn how to create a coupling facility and connect it within a configuration, to maintain IODFs and to use a production IODF to dynamically change a configuration without the need for an IPL or POR.
