Module 1 - Virtual Tape Library Plus 2.0 Introduction

  • Explain what a virtual tape library (VTL) appliance is
  • Explain what a virtual tape library does
  • Identify virtual tape library components
  • Define hardware and software components of the virtual tape library appliance
  • Explain the role of the VTL server and disk subsystem
  • List the VTL appliance models and specifications

Module 2 - VTL Tape Library Plus 2.0 Initial Configuration

  • Explain the initial configuration of a VTL appliance
  • Launch the VTL console software
  • Walk through the VTL configuration wizard
  • Explain the VTL object tree
  • Identify the VTL database object
  • Mirror the VTL database

Module 3 - Virtual Tape Library Basic Software Features

  • Create a VTL environment using the basic software features for creating virtual tape libraries and cartridges
  • Explain additional options for creating virtual tape libraries and cartridges
  • Use the Import/Export feature for importing physical tapes into virtual libraries and exporting virtual tapes to physical tape libraries
