Module 1 - Key Features

  • Identify the key components on the front and rear of the workstations
  • Position the workstations within the Sun workstation product line
  • List major features and benefits of the workstations
  • List ideal customers and applications for the workstations

Module 2 - Overview of Architecture and Internal System Components

  • Describe the architectural features
  • Locate and describe the major system components of the workstations

Module 3 - Workstation Setup

  • Explain and complete the steps to unpack all the workstation components
  • List the components needed to complete the shipment
  • List and complete the steps to cable the workstations
  • List and execute the steps to power on and off the workstations
  • Describe the steps and complete the procedure to install the OS and drivers from the supplemental CD

Module 4 - FRU and CRU Removal and Replacement

  • Identify the FRUs and CRUs
  • Explain the tasks that you must complete before you remove a CRU
  • Remove and replace the CRUs

Module 5 - Troubleshooting

  • List and describe the options available from the diagnostics main menu
  • Explain how to use the diagnostics software to identify and resolve issues
  • Describe how to troubleshoot and resolve component issues within the workstations
