Prerequisites

To fully succeed in this course, students should have:

• Experience performing basic system administration, including UNIX administration and networking administration
• Previous experience and familiarity with Java technology
• Previous experience or familiarity eXtensible Markup Language (XML)
• Experience with the concepts of identity management is highly recommended
• Experience with database concepts and administration

• Provide an overview of identity management and Sun Identity Manager
• Describe the components within Sun Identity Manager

• Describe an implementation solution using Sun Identity Manager

Module 2 - Sun Identity Manager Architecture Overview

• Describe the high-level architecture for Sun Identity Manager
• Investigate the network topology
• Describe the individual components within the architecture
• List and describe the supporting standards used by Sun Identity Manager

Module 3 - Features, Enhancements, and Changes in Sun Identity Manager 8.0

• Validate the impact of changes to Roles
• Use the Data Exporter function to extract data from Identity Manager
• View and configure queryable, summary, extended, and inline attributes
• Configure Service Tags
• Enable and view workflow JChart diagrams that have replaced NetCharts
