F01 Associated Links

Definition

Associated Links are redirection links that switch which silo the user is in, and live mainly on Navigation Class Pages.

Usage

Associated Links are used at the bottom of the main content area, distinguishable from Primary Navigation by the absence of the Primary Section Header.

Associated Link components appear on Navigation Class pages and some Product/Service Home pages. There can be only one Associated Links component per page. These links are the least important options to a user if the user has navigated successfully, and thus they appear at the bottom of the page, underneath the Primary Navigation Area. Associated Links usually fall under a "Related Links" or "You Might Also Try:" header because they lead to content outside of their silo. The Content Block Header is actually part of the Associated Links component, and it is a required element. Obviously, this component also requires links, but those may be any of several varieties. There may be Tertiary Links with or without descriptions, or Child Links with or without a Tertiary (See All) link. Subheads may be necessary if there are different types of Associated Links that apply to a single page.
