L02 Secondary Content Banner

Definition

A promotional area within the main body of the page but below the primary content. The Secondary Content Banner uses a small image in combination with HTML copy.

Usage

Use this banner to promote the following:

  • Products & Services
  • Downloads
  • Programs and Initiatives
  • Events
  • Special Offers

An optional title can be used when multiple Secondary Content Banners are used.

Position on Page

We use the Secondary Content Banner format on navigation-class pages (e.g. gateway, category, sub-category). It must always appear below the main navigational or content components at the top of a page.

Production, Placements & Tracking

Do not create or reuse promotion banners for sun.com. To ensure consistent style, all promotion banner production for sun.com must be overseen by Corporate eMarketing. Additionally, the Corporate eMarketing team manages campaign strategy, placements and tracking of all promotional banners on sun.com. The team works with the various product, program and event teams to shape content and determine placements and frequency for banners.

Graphic Specifications

Secondary Content Banner imagery must comform to standards for brand photography [https://brand.sun.com/secure/idsystem/photography.html] or product photography. Sun.com country websites should use the following resources when creating or adapting Secondary Content Banners:

Master html code - see below.

Master templates for photographic element - see Graphic Library repository.

To assure proper style, ALWAYS start production using a master template file or a source file for existing sun.com banner. These files contain brand compliant design and typography specs - i.e. format, style, color, size, spacing and position.
